Starting from Sonamarg and ending at Naranag, this moderate-to-difficult trek takes you through rolling meadows, high-altitude passes, and a series of turquoise alpine lakes, including Vishansar, Krishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Nundkol, and Gangabal. With elevations reaching up to 13,800 ft at Gadsar Pass, the trek offers panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, vibrant wildflowers, and serene valleys. Day wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar & Drive to Sonamarg

  • Morning: Arrive at Srinagar International Airport or bus stand. Meet the trek representative and board a shared vehicle for a 3-hour drive (approx. 90 km) to Sonamarg (7,800 ft).
  • Afternoon: Reach Sonamarg, a picturesque hill station known as the “Meadow of Gold.” Check into the campsite near Shitkadi village, the trek’s base.
  • Evening: Acclimatization walk around the campsite. Briefing by the trek leader about the journey ahead.
  • Meals: Dinner at the campsite.
  • Overnight: Stay in tents at Sonamarg.

Day 2: Trek from Sonamarg to Nichnai

  • Distance: 11 km | Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 7,800 ft to 11,500 ft
  • Morning: After breakfast, begin the trek with a gradual ascent through pine and maple forests, following the Sind River.
  • Afternoon: Reach the “Table Top” meadow, a scenic rest point with views of Sonamarg Valley. Continue climbing to Nichnai, crossing streams and meadows.
  • Evening: Arrive at Nichnai campsite, surrounded by rolling hills. Set up camp and relax.
